Whether scratch and dent insurance is worth it to you depends on many factors, including if you hope to resell or trade in your car one day and the potential cost savings.  

It costs around £90-150 to repair a single minor scratch and often significantly more for small dents without scratch and dent cover. So, it is likely you’ll save money in the long run when taking out the policy. 

With our policy, you can also choose either no excess or a low excess, making repairing minor damage to your car’s bodywork less financially impactful than if you didn’t have Scratch and Dent Insurance. 

The excess is the price you’ll pay when you make a successful claim.  

With Save More Money’s Driving Instructor Scratch and Dent Insurance you can also opt for a zero-excess option, meaning you won’t have to pay anything upon making a claim. However, this will increase your monthly premiums.  

Different providers offer various types of cover, so you’ll need to check your standard policy wording. 

However, even if your existing policy does cover scratch and dent, for smaller scratches and dents, you might find that your policy’s excess is more than the price of a repair.  

With Save More Money’s Scratch and Dent Insurance, the excess is either £0 or low, depending on your choice, so you won’t be significantly out of pocket if you choose to get minor bodywork damage repaired, as long as it’s in line with your policy terms and conditions. 

In many cases, yes. However, our policy does have some restrictions.  

If the scratch isn’t more than 300mm long or wide or over 3mm deep and the car’s original metal bodywork hasn’t been exposed, you should be covered.

The end date of your policy will be determined by the length of cover you have chosen and could continue for a period of 12, 24, 36, or 48 months.
